Absolutes & Opposition
Abwoon - We last talked about Spirit and "meditation." In saying meditation we spoke about a definition which states meditation is simply "to think deeply..." If we think deeply about spiritual issues, we will find that the Spirit begins to think for us. Now, here's a problem with getting to that point of the Spirit thinking for us:
Spirit is "absolute" and "opposite" of us. More correctly, we are opposed or opposite to It (that One - Spirit). Spirit is absolute - It is conclusive, fixed, unconditional and total in reference to anything It does or thinks. However, the Spirit does or thinks those things for us. Using our brains we then translate (interpret) those thoughts but often do not get an absolute interpretation. Let's look at the human brain:
The brain serves three functions - it gathers information; interprets that information; and sends it to the rest of the body. The brain does not think. To think is to formulate in the mind. "There is but one Mind." (Ralph Waldo Emerson) Of course, Emerson was speaking of the Mind of GOD. Absolutely GOD/Spirit does all the thinking.
Then you may have heard someone exclaim, "What were you thinking?" "Are you out of your mind?" The correct answer is "NO!" You were interpreting the information delivered to you by Spirit in your brain. You just interpreted it incorrectly.
In absolute terms an interpretation is a transfer and we all know that there is always something lost in a transfer. The problem then was we didn't think (or something like thinking) deeply enough to get the message correctly. A mentor of mine once said, "The one or main thing scripture is trying to teach us is patience."
Whatever the Spirit conveys to us is absolute. It (whatever that one thing is) always has been, is and will always be absolute. Being in our position is the physical, more-often- than-not we will oppose those thoughts until we think them through. As we meditate on what we believe the Spirit is trying to tell us, the Spirit will correct our thoughts for us until we got It. When we "got it" there will be no need to think about It more - at least on that one subject.
Then why are we opposite to or opposed to Spirit - think about that? "There are no absolutes in this world -" might be a place to start. Patience- we want to move. Yet, Spirit is everywhere all the time and has no need to move. Think about that!
Abwoon.
